Naiades

Believe in me.
I have waited half my life.
Here I am.

---

Pride

We didn't know what we could do
Though we all saw what was happening
We could do nothing

The realm is safe the realm is strong
Though we all saw it was crumbling
We will carry on
---

They didn't know what they should say
While the actors were stumbling
They said nothing

The realm is safe the realm is strong
Though the outside is invading
We won't be moving

And the music plays on

Past the faceless critics' fingertips
I swam against the current
To keep from drowning

The tide of judgement's flooding in,
With its sad faceless courage
We will say nothing

And the music plays on
Silently immersed in my own heart
And we all wish them well
Holding onto pride when nothing is left
---
Did she die a noble death oh yes
Did she die of a broken heart
Often she did
Won't they allow me to just move on

The realm is safe the realm is strong
We'll send our greetings from the storm
The realm is safe the realm is strong
We will remain to carry on

And the music plays on
Silently immersed in my own heart
And we all wish them well
Holding onto pride when nothing is left

EndBegin

Through the cracks in the wall I'm going back to Nature
Through the holes in the floor my roots search for the waters
Along crumbling brick I'm building back my forest
Over collapsed walls I'm stretching myself homeward
To me
To me

The trees are burning and the wars unseen
What we know and what we believe

As the sidewalks break I'm dropping down my anchors
Along rusting wires I'm stretching out my fingers
From the rotting beams I'm reaching towards the answer
Upon broken glass I may walk forever
To me
To me

The walls are blurring and the lines between
What we know and what we believe

As the sidewalks break I'm dropping down my anchors
Leave the endless noise I'm going back to silence
On the crumbling bridge I cross back to the mountains
Through the blood red sea I'll sink into the alters

Through the cracks in the wall I'm going back to Nature
Leave a bounty of fruit at the bottom for the cinders
Through the holes in the floor my roots search for the waters
When the oceans die, your tears will fill the rivers.

Armistice

From the cold horizon
Their armies cry for blood
Surrender Surrender

The desert wind the ocean bed
The wind beckons come the flood
Surrender Surrender

Your drama is as usual
Wrapped in pointless battle
Surrender Surrender

Deed is the truth of Character
But the Word may bring on War
Surrender Surrender

The Healing
Pulling back - pulling in
The pain begins to relent
Pulling back - pulling in
To heal. We may Heal.
Pulling back - pulling in
Oh the desire to heal
We must have desire...

Fixed and refixed tiny tears
Sacrificed the kindly wrist
Surrender Surrender

Add to your cares new tragedy
Wits sharpened to weaponry
Surrender Surrender

Like a disgusted outsider
Welcomed to exclusivity
Surrender Surrender

Deed is the truth of Character
But the Truth may bring the War
Surrender Surrender
---
Towards the cold horizon
A higher perception
Surrender Surrender

From the boulders of my perch
The thrill of terror confides
Surrender Surrender

Drifting into the abyss
At peace in Motherly silence
Surrender Surrender

To fight is useless
I could but step towards this.
Surrender Surrender

Alaric (by J.F.M. Dovaston)

Our power is pass'd, our spells have been cast
And penitent now for life art thou
Thy spells were sure, for now peace secure
Doth bless king Alaric's bed,
— But it is the peace of the dead.

For down went the king, and his palace, and all

And already in his hall are the flag-reeds tall,
And the long green rushes grow.
Then take thy bride to thy cloister'd bed,
— But it is the place of the dead.

And oft from our boat on a Summer's eve
Sweet music is heard to flow.
As we push from the side of the Blue-Lake's tide
Where the long green rushes grow
And the waters now o'er it flow,
Above king Alaric's head,
— But it is the place of the dead.

Scylla & Charybdis

The fair one with another's eyes upon her
The fair one with another's lips awaiting hers
And she'll beckon you by offering her kindest face
And the future glows so brightly towards her horizon

You feel so forceful and strong
When she's close to you

The pale one with another's eyes upon her
The pale one with the lips of another's melting waste
And the future bleeds black through her bottomless eyes
And your life drains slowly downward through her watery smile

You feel so mortal and small
When she's close to you

Falling, rolling, effortless and ceaseless.
Choose Her and she may bare you to her Demons
Hell hath the fury of her every Reflection.
And the lives you've lost can't be restored through redemption

You feel so shameful and hurt
When she's close to you

Sing Hope and She may pull you down

Trance Vision Thrilling Impression
Belief Choice Perception Perfection
Bedazzle Bewilder Stupor Sedation
Ambition Induction Awareness Awaken
Struggle Rejection Aversion Destruction
Clarity Dignity Ruin Depression
Grief Regret Contrition Redemption

The Mighty

Ripped from the root:
I am with you.

I feel her alive and venus behaved
Magic the guide to expect as she makes her entrance -
Did you not bask beneath my gaze?
Oh the wind can cause the rails to creak like a ship in Arctic duress.

Then a slavedancer, beaded and perfumed
Metal-cold bracelets upon each battered wrist -
The question of my deity rewarded
With every wave of her hand to the audience.

In 200 AD, I am yet just and fair in the language of trees
A soldier in respite while they plotted my death.
Then a simple Bard shackled yet still able to sing
I know the gut-wrenched pain of mental bloodshed.

My fingernails chipped and filled with dirt from the farm,
The lights red to gold to blue upon me.
Smoke brushes along the contours of my form,
Blinded to the faces in the balcony.

Flashing one scene then the next -
Walking delicately through the mines,
Trimmed, and perfect and haven’t eaten in three days,
I know what it is to lose my heart.

Look to the side, see the conspirators behind the curtain,
Down the alleyways,
Tumbling through forests,
Wandering between all realms
I fought well and bitter and to the death,
Like a Trojan soldier on a vase,
My Mythology smashed and littered under their feet
I fall like leaves from separate similar struggles.

Now reaching up to that lovely, lovely place
Where all answers await capture
To their point of meaning.
I am the Muse.
Blinding as I radiate.
I can only shine on that which reflects back upon me...

The taste of me alone profound,
Resurrected.
Resurrected.

Believe in Me.
And I'll take you with me
----
Are we defined by misunderstandings?
A thousand or more Chant the All.
The Mighty Rise and Fall.
Rise and Fall.

Pride Diminish those who've lost faith in us.
A thousand or more Chant the All.
The Mighty Rise and Fall.
Rise and Fall.

Lureinlay

I was sinking.

Long have I dwelt o'er the
Realm of the Drowning Man
Still I was empty...
Long have they been dashed against my shores
Still I was waiting...
And to my wat'ry depths they sadly sank
And I was sinking.

I put them all to sleep
One touch of my voice
Then dead at my feet
It was nothing...

In the early hours
A grey dawn misty morn
The turning tide
Surveyed with flooding eyes
The sky breaking through
The morning silent

And yet I hear the sound
The faintest beat
Of heart that sank itself
Beneath my waves
There was something...
I realize I'm nothing like my kind
Your heart is still beating

Keep your heart alive I'm almost there
Keep your heart alive and I'll bring you home

You better sing out strong
You've got a voice that melts the glaciers down.

Keep your heart alive I'm almost there
Keep yourself alive and I'll bring you home

The Strange Familiar

No one knows who we really are
They just expect our strength to go on forever
Does that sound familiar ?

So we keep forcing our lives along
The pain might be numb enough
To get through another year
Does that sound familiar ?

You were out there somewhere
The only one that knew me so well before
Would you remember?

There were shadows hanging over you
And they tore your fragile heart in two
And the light behind your eyes was going, too

You were out there somewhere
Waiting for a door to open
And bring you home
Does that sound familiar ?

You were always in my heart
And every year went by
I wondered where you were
Would you remember?

There were shadows hanging over you
And the loneliness engulfing you
And it kills me what they've done to you

---

Beating at my heart
The War of Wings and Waiting
Backwards down my path
To find the right beginning
Two arms open wide
One smile was always facing
Towards the Universe
Could be we weren't just dreaming

---

The golden moment now recognized
To find where we always belonged was together
I'm your Familiar

Why did it take us half our lives
To find where we always belonged was together
I'm your Familiar

---

We Go On

Join me in this Moment
Let it come
Let it go
We are right here

And I'm full of meaning
I can do no wrong
So let me flow
Away the tears

The child lost inside the anger
The swallowed words
The pointless shame
The broken heart
The shattered ego
The thought that no one knows how to love anymore

We all bleed emotion
When the path seems lost
And then the mind
Is free to fear

But you are my armor
I feel can your strength
And nothing breaks
Beyond our shield

The horror of a broken future
The black belief that trust is gone
All of my years hung out and tethered
To think that all of this was somehow meant to be

You and I will go on
Make forever something to become
